NOW IS THE TIME!
ABOUT
Talks for a new non-denominational high school in the Omaha area began in 2021, and it is exciting to see the vision for the school take shape. This city-wide initiative is driven by a desire to unite the faith community in Omaha by providing a faith-based education option that matches the scale of our city.
We will be a school that promotes biblical immersion. This model not only impacts content (what we teach), but pedagogy (how we teach). Our students will understand God’s plan for their lives, and how they fit into the world.
Now is the time to build a place where students can be encouraged to grow strong in character and become leaders in our community and our workforce.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Families of faith who are looking for an educational option that honors their values are consistently disappointed by the value held by our local public schools. Until now, Omaha families have not had the option of a large, non-denominational Christian high school with sports facilities. We are excited to obtain a building and land that has the potential to accommodate up to 600 students.
-
The current building can hold 312 students. We hope to open with 150 students.
When the second building is completed (Phase 3), the campus will be able to serve 600 students.
-
24 students.
-
The desire is for the school to be Class B eventually. Enrollment will be capped once Class B status has been reached.
-
We are in talks with the Nebraska School Activities Association about how to provide a seamless transition for current OCA athletes to OCHS athletics and activities. Current OCA students participate in football, volleyball, basketball, track, cross-country, bowling, cheerleading, drama, all-state vocal and instrumental music, and jazz band. While we currently co-op for baseball and softball, we hope to field our own OCHS teams as soon as possible.
-
OCHS will start with students in all grades of high school: 9-12.
-
Tuition for OCHS will be determined by the OCHS Board of Directors and published in January.
-
Families can apply for financial assistance through our third-party partner, FACTS. Assistance is based on financial need.
-
The building is scheduled to be completed in July 2025 and the timeline has been carefully constructed to allow a margin of time for unanticipated events. A July construction completion gives us time to move in all the furniture, and give teachers time to set up their classrooms prior to the September 2, 2025 start date.
The finished building will contain a secure front entrance, front office and reception area, administrative offices, a nurse’s office, 13 classrooms, cafeteria/chapel, collaborative spaces, and a library.
-
Phases II and III (19-acre land for fields and the front, west lawn for gymnasium/fine arts, respectively) will be finished according to the speed in which they are funded.
-
Yes! Both. OCHS will admit students who ascribe to the ACSI Statement of Faith and commit to contribute positively to the culture of OCHS, seeking to know and honor Jesus in all things. All students will be discipled throughout their Omaha Christian High School experience to impact the world - wherever God leads them.
-
Spiritual development is of paramount importance, and is reflected in every part of OCHS, delivered by every teacher and staff member. We refer to this as Biblical Immersion. We intentionally connect what we teach and how we teach to our ultimate goal in creating an educational experience that fosters Christian worldview development.
